Where pixels ignite, stories unfold, and imagination takes flight! Imagine a cosmic dance of electrons, choreographed by technology, racing across the digital stage. At URB, teens will explore the art and science of video broadcasting. From capturing stunning visuals to live streaming, our campers will gain practical skills and unleash their creativity. Let’s break down the components:
Ages: 11-17
Location: 610 S. Main St. Culpeper VA 22701 - With day 4 live concert production on site at location (Local to Culpeper)


Daily Activities:
Day 1: Introduction to Video Broadcasting
• Morning Session:
o Welcome and Icebreakers: Get to know fellow campers and instructors.
o Video Basics: Understand camera angles, framing, and composition.
o Technology: Explore available technology and its applications in entertainment, design, and broadcasting.
• Afternoon Session:
o Open Broadcast Software (OBS): Learn how to use OBS for live streaming and recording.
o Hands-On Practice: Set up scenes, add overlays, and stream to platforms like YouTube, Twitch, and Rumble.
o Guest Speaker: Invite a local broadcaster or filmmaker to share insights.


Day 2: Lights, Camera, Action!
• Morning Session:
o Professional Cameras: Introduce high-quality camera systems and lenses.
o Lighting Techniques: Understand key, fill, and backlighting.
o Scriptwriting: Craft engaging video scripts.
• Afternoon Session:
o On-Camera Talent: Campers take turns as hosts, presenters, or actors and form (3) 4 person teams.
o Live Interviews: Practice interviewing skills and support staff management.


Day 3: Editing and Post-Production
• Morning Session:
o Editing Software: Dive into CapCut and other video editing tools.
o Cutting Clips: Learn about transitions, color grading, and sound design.
• Afternoon Session:
o Hands-On Editing: Campers edit their recorded footage.
o Creating Trailers: Craft teasers for their upcoming projects.
o Feedback Session: Peer review and instructor feedback.


Day 4: Live Streaming and Virtual Sets
• Afternoon Session:
o Virtual Sets: Create virtual backgrounds using green screens.
o Live Streaming Strategies: Discuss audience engagement and chat moderation.
o Interactive Elements: Add polls, graphics, and overlays.
• Evening Session:
o Live Show: Campers produce a live show.
o Live Show editing: Rough cuts on editing and postproduction
o Retakes: Campers make corrections or reshoot footage that didn’t play well in editing.


Day 5: Showcase and Graduation
• Morning Session:
o Final Touches: Fine-tune projects.
o Campers’ Showcase: Each camper team presents their video segment.
o Awards and Certificates: Recognize outstanding work.
• Afternoon Session:
o Graduation Ceremony: Parents and friends join and watch the productions.
o Camp Recap: Share highlights and memories.
o Future Opportunities: Discuss career paths in broadcasting.
o Awards: Production showcased on UNR3AL1TY’s various media channels giving credit to the production team and onscreen talent.
